Beware of job scamming

Recently, there has been an increase in online fraud scams in which fraudsters pose as recruiters from Trenkwalder or similar service providers. They contact potential applicants via WhatsApp, Telegram, email or other channels to distribute fake job offers. Their aim is to obtain personal data or even money from the victims.

Trenkwalder and our partner companies have no connection whatsoever with these fraudsters. We would like to emphasize that we never demand payments or financial services in exchange for applications or job interviews. Our communication is always transparent and professional.

How to protect yourself from job scamming:

Job scamming is a scam in which fraudsters create the impression that they have an attractive job offer for you. During the supposed application process, victims are then asked to pay fees, share personal information or even buy expensive “licenses”.

In many cases, victims receive a seemingly tempting job offer. A fake application process is then staged, in which applicants are asked to provide personal data or even to pay money. It is crucial that all job seekers are aware of this scam and do not fall for it.

How to recognize phishing messages:
  • Unknown phone number or email address

    • The message comes from an unknown or suspicious source.

  • Request for personal data or payments

    • You are asked to provide copies of identification documents, account details or make payments for alleged application processes.

  • Spelling and grammar mistakes

    • The message contains noticeable linguistic errors or unprofessional language. The sender is unknown to you (unknown phone number or email address).

What should you do if you receive a phishing message?
  • Do not open any attachments, do not click on any links and do not reply to suspicious messages.

  • Block the sender and do not disclose any sensitive information.

  • If you are unsure whether the message is genuine, contact Trenkwalder directly to verify its authenticity.

  • Report suspicious incidents to infogermany@trenkwalder.com or contact our head office or one of our branch offices. We will be happy to help you with the investigation.

  • If you have already fallen victim to a fraud attempt, please report it to the police immediately.
